About CarbonSphere
A young team carrying 30 years of climate finance experience
CarbonSphere Climate Advisory Limited is an Africa-focused climate finance and carbon markets consultancy, built to close the gap between global climate pledges and projects that actually get financed.
Who We Are
Founded in Lusaka, working across the continent
CarbonSphere was founded to solve a specific problem: climate finance commitments were multiplying faster than the pipeline of bankable, well-structured African projects able to absorb them. We built the firm around that gap.
Led by CEO Blutus Mbambi, our advisory team combines carbon project developers, climate finance specialists, and MRV engineers with a presence in over ten African countries.
Vision & Mission
What we're building toward
An Africa that finances its own climate resilience
A continent where climate finance flows at the scale its ambition deserves — designed, structured, and delivered by African expertise.
Turn climate pledges into disbursed capital
We design carbon projects, structure Article 6 transactions, and build the digital MRV systems that let funders trust what they are financing — end to end.
Why CCAL
What a youth-led, Africa-based team gets right
Four things clients tell us they didn't expect from a climate advisory firm.
Bankable by design
Every deliverable is written for the reviewer who has to approve it — GCF, GEF, and Adaptation Fund criteria are the starting point, not an afterthought.
Digital-first MRV
Monitoring systems built to hold up under third-party verification, not spreadsheets assembled the week before an audit.
Local footing, global fluency
Based in Lusaka, fluent in Article 6 — we translate between district officials and international registries in both directions.
Youth-led, expert-backed
A young team drawing on 30+ years of combined technical expertise, built to still be doing this work in 2050.
Our Journey
